Class Levels & Descriptions

Beginner Level 1

For students who are new to sewing or still building confidence with machine basics, seams, hems, fabric handling, and simple garment construction.

Open Levels

For students at mixed levels working on their own projects with guidance and support. Suitable for confident beginners through to continuing students.

Level 2+

For continuing students ready for more advanced garment construction, pattern reading, zippers, stretch fabrics, finishing techniques, alterations, and independent project work.

Upcycling + Beginners

A relaxed session that blends beginner-friendly sewing with creative upcycling. Perfect if you are new to sewing or building confidence, and want to save, repair, and reimagine clothing through mending, patching, embellishment, and fabric craft.

Upcycling + Open Levels

Open-level project work alongside creative upcycling. Work on your own pieces with support while mending, patching, embellishing, and reimagining clothing. Suitable for confident beginners through to continuing students.

Equipment & Materials

All machines, overlockers, irons, and other sewing equipment are available for students to use, along with donated fabrics from the local council and charity stores (kept out of landfill). Students are asked to supply their own threads, fabric pencils, and pins. Fabric is optional, based on your own creative choices and ambitions.
